Superseal is a unique, fleece-backed heat sealable elastomeric membrane. The EPDM membrane design is ideal for mechanical attachment to any suitable substrate, with or without heat insulation.

The product
Superseal fleece-backed EPDM is available in three grades, all suitable for mechanical attachment to a roof-deck at any slope and providing excellent wind load performance due to the heavy duty fleece backing.
SUPERSEAL FR fire retardant EPDM for best possible fire resistance.
SUPERSEAL S EPDM grade with excellent physical properties.
SUPERSEAL W white top EPDM for the ultimate sun and heat reflection.
Mechanically attached Superseal EPDM
The mechanically secured Superseal EPDM membrane is the best possible choice for new constructions as well as re-roofing with or without additional heat insulation. A mechanically secured Superseal system provides:
  • Superseal EPDM membrane — a flexible and elastic rubber membrane that is chemically and thermally stable with exceptional weather resistance. No change in strength or elasticity between -300C and +1200C.
  • Thermobond hot air splicing giving a seam that has the same elasticity and flexibility as the membrane itself
  • Fleece-backed membrane giving a smooth, wrinkle-free installation. No thermal movements or tensions in the roof membrane.
  • Reliable securement through both membrane edges for maximum safety. No windload on the seam.
  • Light weight per installed square metre
  • Fast and reliable installation and no open flames on the roof, only hot air is necessary for all splicing and detail work
  • A full range of components and details for a complete watertight, waterproofing system and with 1.30 metre wide rolls to ensure fast installation
System approval and certification
Superseal Mechanically Attached Roofing System is certified and fulfills the requirements of:

  • British Board of Agrement in Great Britain, BBA certificate No 92/2799
  • BUtgb in Belgium, Certificate ATG No 98/2038
  • BKB in the Netherlands, KOMO attest No ATC0220/96
  • Bureau Veritas in France, Cert. 3525/T.7.87053
  • SITAC in Sweden, Approval No 5020/86
  • German standards — DIN 7864 Elastomerbahnen, DIN 4102, Teil I Fireclass B2, DIN 4102, Teil 7, Flugfeuer u. stri. Warme, DIN 4062, Wurzelfestigkeit.

Other approvals or fire- and windload certificates are available from Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Hungary, The Czech Republic, Yugoslavia etc.
  • Installation
Mechanically fastened Superseal EPDM installs quickly, securely and effectively on any suitable substrate, like TRP metal decking with insulation timberdecking or lightweight concrete. Soft insulations, like mineral wool, require telescopic fasteners. Splicing with the fully automatic Thermobond Strip Splicing Machine can be made at freezing temperatures or damp weather. Mechanically secured roofs always require control of pullout resistance of fasteners.

Thanks to the fleece backing the membrane can be bonded to the substrate at roof perimeter, thus limiting the effects of wind loads.

Superseal is installed solely by authorise contractors who are responsible for the integrity and performance of the finished roof and who work with full access to Trelleborg Building Systems AB know-how and technical support.

The fully engineered EPDM Roofing System Thermobond heat splice accessories provide the complete engineered system. Corners, boots, collars, drains, flashing sheets and adhesives from one source guarantee the watertight integrity of the roof.
